How do its active ingredients work?

Butiratok

Butyric acid

It improves the epithelial integrity due to it is the preferred metabolic fuel for enterocytes, it positively influences cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation (greater villus height and lower crypt depth), and thus facilitates the nutrient absorption. Butyric acid also acts by decreasing intestinal inflammation, through reduction of oxidative damage to DNA and through induction of apoptosis of cells with DNA damage.

Znok

Zinc

It plays a role in maintaining intestinal barrier integrity and function at tight junctional level, thus preventing the entry of antigens, toxics and pathogenic bacteria that cause inflammation.

omega3ok

Omega 3 fatty acids

They modúlate eicosanoid production. Eicosanoids resulting from omega-3 fatty acid metabolism are less stimulants of the inflammatory response than those resulting from omega-6 fatty acids. Moreover, they are the precursors of resolvins and protectins, counter-regulatory inflammatory substances that serve as agonists for endogenous anti-inflammatory mechanisms and significantly act in the resolution of inflammation.

e.faeciumok

Enterococcus faecium

It improves the balance of the intestinal microbiota. Competition for nutrients, adhesion sites, and the production of antimicrobial substances (short-chain fatty acids, defensins, etc.) inhibit the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria, while favoring the development of beneficial.

fosok

Fructooligosaccharides

Prebiotic component, which indicates that it withstands digestion and enters the large intestine in an intact form, where it serves as an energy source for the beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus spp, Bacteroides spp, and Bifidobacterium spp), thus stimulating their growth and/or their activity. As a result of its fermentation, the production of toxic substances (ammonia and biogenic amines) decreases and the release of short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate, lactate, and butyrate) increases in the intestinal lumen, reducing the presence of pathogenic bacteria (E. coli and C. perfringens), thanks to the reduction of the colonic pH.

B12ok

Vitamin B12

It plays an important role in many biochemical reactions (including DNA synthesis and methionine synthesis from homocysteine), as well as in important enzymatic reactions in the citric acid cycle, where it acts as a cofactor. Hypocobalaminemia typically occurs when specific cobalamin receptors in the ileum are damaged as a consequence of inflammatory disease. Deficiency is accelerated by reduced cobalamin consumption and ongoing gastrointestinal losses.

  • Mild diarrhea of punctual, recurrent or chronic nature, or poor fecal quality: In these cases, it allows to reduce the use of antibiotic therapy and/or immunosuppressive agents.
  • During and after antibiotic treatment.
  • Flatulence.
  • Situations of predictable stress: Trips, stay in residences, weaning, change of home, etc.
  • Change of diet.

It is not recommended the use of ENTEROKUN MILD in case of:

  • Food allergy to fish or during periods of treatment with exclusion diets.

Daily recommendation to be added to the food (on top). This dose can be divided into different shots:

Weight Spoons* Amount for
<10 kg 0.5 2 months
10-20 kg 1.0 1 month
20-30 kg 1.5 20 days
>30 kg 2.0 15 days

*11.8 g per spoon

During how much time?

  • Punctual diarrhea: Administration is recommended for at least 5 days, and as long as the symptoms persist.
  • Recurrent or chronic diarrhea or por fecal quality: Administration is recommended for at least 1 month, and as long as the symptoms persist and until 7 days after its disappearance.
  • Antibiotic therapy: Administer while the antibiotic treatment lasts and continue until at least 7 days after the last antibiotic dose.
  • Flatulence: For at least 15 days.
  • Situations of predictable stress: 3 days before the stressful situation, during the days that the stressful situation lasts, and during the 3 days after the stressful situation ends.
  • Change of diet: 3 days before the start of the transition to the new food and during the next 7 days.
